How much does a wedding photographer cost in Paraguay?
The question everyone asks and almost nobody answers in public: the market's real ranges, what moves the price, and what a serious quote has to say.
If there's one question about this craft that gets googled every day in Paraguay, it's this one. And almost nobody answers it in public: prices travel by private message, get negotiated in the dark, and couples end up comparing quotes that don't include the same things.
The numbers you'll see in the market
Very different prices coexist in Paraguay for "covering a wedding". Among the studios that publish their prices, packages run from about Gs. 2,700,000 to Gs. 5,500,000, and some quote in US dollars when the wedding is abroad. Below that there's a much cheaper informal market, and above it, premium coverage that publishes nothing at all.
The range is that wide because "covering a wedding" doesn't mean the same thing in every quote. Which is exactly where you should look closely.
What moves the price
The hours. Covering a one-hour civil ceremony is not the same as a full day from getting ready to the last song. It's the variable that moves the number most.
How many people are working. One person can't cover both of you getting ready at the same time, or shoot the ceremony from two angles. Two people cost more, and it shows in what gets recorded.
Photography, film, or both. They're two different crafts with different gear. We wrote a whole piece on it: photography, film, or both. The short version: booking both with the same team costs noticeably less than two separate suppliers.
Where the wedding is. Asunción, Ciudad del Este or the countryside don't cost the same if the team has to travel and stay over. And a destination wedding adds flights and travel days.
Editing and the deadline. Behind every wedding there are weeks of selecting, developing and cutting. A serious, written delivery deadline is part of what you're paying for.
So how much does a wedding photographer charge?
The honest answer: it depends on what you're buying. The mistake isn't paying little or paying a lot — it's not knowing what the number includes.
Cheap gets expensive in a very concrete way in this craft: with no backup camera, no same-day file backups and no contract, a low price is a bet. If it goes wrong, there's no second chance — a wedding doesn't happen twice.
What a serious quote has to say
Before comparing numbers, check that every quote answers:
- How many hours of coverage, and how many people.
- Exactly what you receive: how many edited photographs, how long the film runs.
- How long delivery takes, in writing.
- A contract. No contract means no commitment — just a conversation.
- What happens if something fails: rain, broken gear, illness. A professional has an answer before it happens.
- How payment works: booking fee, balance, and what actually secures your date.
If two quotes answer all of that, then you can compare them. If one doesn't, the lower number isn't cheaper — it's less information.
